Information for Visitors: Accessibility

Accessibility

Getting to the Museum

Cologne's nearby Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) has access to trains, the U-Bahn, and the S-Bahn, with arrivals from Cologne/Bonn Airport. This stop offers assistance for travelers with disabilities.

The museum is accessible for visitors with disabilities from the Hauptbahnhof.

Nearby parking garages with elevators offering access for disabled visitors to Roncalliplatz include Rheingarten, Parkhaus Groß St. Martin, and Parkhaus Dom.

Disabled parking is available on Bischofsgartenstraße as well as in numerous other nearby locations.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Museum access

There are numerous accessible routes to Museum Ludwig for visitors with disabilities.

The entrance doors are made of sliding glass with contrasts for vision impaired visitors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elevators

We do offer accessible elevators, and we are in the process of upgrading additional accessible elevators.

Our accessible elevators are equipped for wheelchairs thanks to the low placement of control panels with push buttons. The latter are raised, offering contrast for the vision impaired.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seats and wheelchairs

Seats are available in our galleries and foyers.
Wheelchairs may be obtained near the admissions desk.
All public areas are wheelchair accessible.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are located in the Passage and within the galleries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coat check

Coat checks and lockers are located in the Passage, which is accessible to visitors with disabilities.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Assistive Listening Devices

Hearing impaired visitors can obtain induction loops at the admissions desk.
We offer mobile induction loops for hearing-impaired visitors for guided tours. These devices can also be used in the cinema and the lecture hall.
For selected events, we also offer tours with sign language interpretation.
