100 Years Museum für Ostasiatische Kunst

In 1909 the City of Cologne founded the Museum of East Asian Art which was based on the collection of Adolf Fischer (1856 - 1914). The Museum celebrates the centenary of its founding with two special exhibitions:

The Heart of Enlightenment: Buddhist Art in China 550-600 and
Surimono: The Art of Allusion in Japanese Prints.

An international symposium entitled Circa 1909 will be held on 30 October 2009 from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lecture hall of the museum.

On 31 October 2009 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the museum invites everybody to join its Open Day. We would be particularly pleased to welcome as many children as possible.
