Head of the man on the far left

Not only the compressed and strangely proportioned facial features, with the squiggly eyes, the bulbous nose and the thick lips, but also the very loosely drawn hair and beard, deviate from the precise draughtsmanship of the head of the kneeling Magus. We can only vaguely discern lines to correct the outline and internal drawing of the head, which in the painted version is lower down and in quarter-profile. The ornament in the headband, planned to sag above the forehead in the underdrawing is omitted entirely in the painted version.
